On the assumption this is genuine, and not someone's idea of an early April fool - Wow!

I hope whoever gets it appreciates it - it's interesting that it's 'pre-production'. Presumably Ford weren't daft about the advantages of having a model on the show.

I wonder who's owned it up 'til now?

I was just wondering the other day if any of the TV models were still around, 70's and 80's Fords are fetching huge money at the moment and there's an accompanying black market in nicked parts and cars.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if it exceeds its estimate - who wouldn't want to fishtail in Bodie's motor?

no i don't think it's an april fools joke it is genuinely going to be auctioned . I'm not sure who owned it previuosly but it looks to be in mint condition seeing how it's a classic car . This will go for the top end of the estimate i'm sure . Thankyou for looking.

Well rationally it's a 40 year old boy-racer Ford with nigh on 80,000 miles on the clock.

But I'd still love to have it.

I'd love to just have a go in it.

I hope it finds a loving home :0)

me too ..if only i could win the lottery from now until the auction *g*
Mar. 23rd, 2016 06:41 am (UTC)
OMG! Really? If only! 'With Tartan Plaid Fishnet Recaro interior'. ..Doesn't that just roll off the tongue? :D Ooh, and is that an RT on the passenger seat?

But I'm also confused. Is this the same car that we saw, in another photo, being pulled out of a pond? Is this a refurbishment, or did they have more than one?

Please keep us posted, if you hear anything about how the auction went. I'd love to know.

ETA: I was thinking that perhaps 'as driven by' means it wasn't the one actually used in the series, but then they add that it comes with records of 'TV work'. Curious!

OMG , yes really and the inside looks as fresh as it did back then and yes that is a r/t on the passenger seat . To be honest i don't think this is the same car , i think it was another capri that was pulled out of a pond some time ago. I will keep my ears and eyes open to see how much this gorgeous car goes for , infact i wonder if you can follow the auction on line . Thankyou for looking.

Good idea and I've just been to the H&H listing pages here and here.

There's a nice pic of Bodie driving on the first page, but you may need to click the first 'dot' on the slide show again, to see it.

The details on the second page do seem to indicate it was actually driven by Lew, in the series. ..There's even a photo of what's under the bonnet, if you click on the 'Further Photos' link. *g*

And their price isn't out of line considering what that other Capri sold for a few weeks ago. And it didn't have Pros provenance. Whether that's good or bad for a buyer! *bg*

yes , i think it will go for the top end of the estimate. I love this car and i wish whoever buys it would take it around the country for other fans to appreciate.
